Alla Nedashkivska

Alla Nedashkivska is a professor of Slavic applied linguistics and the Ukrainian language program in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Alberta. She is a founding member of the International Association of Teachers of Ukrainian. Her research lies at the intersection of Slavic linguistics, applied linguistics, and sociolinguistics, with particular attention to political and media discourse, language ideologies, language identity, and language practices, as well as language pedagogy and second language acquisition. She is the author of award-winning textbooks for Ukrainian language instruction. Her current work, in collaboration with O. Sivachenko, includes the blended-learning project PodorozhiUA: Beginners’ Ukrainian.
