Elmira Muratova

Elmira Muratova is a post-doctoral researcher at the European Centre for Minority Issues in Flensburg (Germany). Previously, she was an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Taurida National University, Simferopol (Ukraine), where she obtained her PhD in Political Science (2005). Working at the intersection of political science and cultural anthropology, Muratova has published widely on Crimean Tatars identity, collective memory, and Islam. She is a co-editor of Minorities at War: Cultural Identity and Resilience in Ukraine (2025) and Humanitarianism from Below? Universalism and the Politics of Inhumanity (2026).
