Bohdan Krawchenko
Bohdan Krawchenko is a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Central Asia and a former director general of the institution. Educated at Bishop’s, Toronto, Glasgow, and Oxford universities, from 1986 to 1991 he served as director of CIUS. In 1991, he moved to Kyiv and became the founding director of the Institute of Public Administration and Local Government. This institution later became the National Academy of Public Administration. There, he served as vice-rector and director of the Centre for the Study of Administrative Reform. In 1992, with Solomiia Pavlychko, he co-founded the Osnovy Publishing House, which continues today and has published over 400 titles. Krawchenko's research focuses on historical political economy, encompassing studies of Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
